Cuban Empanadas

  • 9 oz. box Steak-umm® Cuban Style Seasoned Sliced Steaks
  • 1 package pie crust dough (2 rolls)
  • ¼ cup diced yellow onion
  • ½ diced bell pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • Cooking spray
  • 1 egg, beaten
  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Cook Steak-umm Sweet & Zesty Cuban steaks according to directions on the box. Set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, cook the onion and bell pepper until soft. Mix in with the beef and set aside.
  4. Roll out pie dough. Using a small bowl, cut out circles (about 3 per roll of dough). Continue cutting out circles until most of the dough is used. 
  5. Lay out the dough circles. Add 2-3 tablespoons of the meat/veggie filling to the middle of each circle. Sprinkle each one with cheese.
  6. Fold the dough circles in half and press the edges together with a fork. 
  7. Move the empanadas to a greased baking sheet and brush the tops with the egg wash. 
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Can be served with salsa and guacamole.
